When I first started to work with this routine it was called 'This is me!'. I wanted to tell people, that what you see or think of someone isn't necessarily true. We all have many sides and hidden feelings, and a smiling or angry face doesn't tell all about us. We are all balancing between different feels and moods, on what we show to strangers and what we can show to loved ones.

Routine started to take its shape with a help from Marie Mint, and I started to see other meanings in it as well. It wasn't just about who we are anymore, but also how we are physically. What is thought to be feminine or masculine, how beauty ideals define us. I've always been more or less of a tomboy, and for some reason i gain muscles quite easily. I find muscles attractive and I love my strong body, but muscles on girl... gross! So I've always had mixed feelings about my body, shame and pride at the same time. Shame for being muscular girl and pride for being muscular and strong. I've lost some of my muscles over the years, but my body is still strong and keeps me going, and I feel no shame anymore. This is me, and this is my body. Most of the time I'm nothing but sunshine, but I also have attitude and temper. I am female and feminine but I'm no weak by any means. And for that I'm not sorry!

I renamed this routine to be The Awen. In the Celtic language, the word "awen" means "essence" or "inspiration". The Awen is also a Celtic symbol that has multiple meanings. One interpretation is that three rays on symbol presents male, female and balance between them. It suites perfectly because with this routine I'm exploring not only that particular balance, but also self approval and I end this routine very strong and masculine way.

This routine has been three times on streamed shows and twice on live shows. It is not a typical burlesque act and there for hard to "sell", but I keep on offering it to an events. It is intense and has been said to give chills and goosebumps. That's what I aim for with my art, to give audience feelings, whatever they may be.

If you want to book this routine for your event, just email me and I'll give you a link to a video footage.
