Goodbye 2022 - Welcome 2023
So, I guess it's time to sum up year 2022 and look forward to a year 2023
2022 has been a good one and full of happenings, some of them first time ever and some dream come true moments. I performed in 13 live shows including one international production (still over a moon for that!) and one private gig. I was part of 4 online shows, two of them were foreign productions. I was performing first time ever on a music festival (Laukaan Satamafestivaali) as part of the side show. I produced two events for Jyväskylä Burlesque association, did a little teaching, got a new day job and started a new dance class (vintage jazz). I finally managed to finish my newest act of an autumn leaf and started to create a new one with a little darker tone. And let's not forget this website I made and merchandise I got for resale. This year has had so many memorable and beautiful moments, so many kind and lovely souls I met, overcoming oneself and determination. For that I'm grateful!
In the name of honesty, I must admit that in time to time things got a bit overwhelmed and I felt super tired. I also had some health issues, nothing too serious though. However, it's crystal clear now that I must take a little bit better care of myself. Surprisingly enough, I'm not getting any younger.
New year 2023 then, it is still quite an empty canvas. I 'm co-producing one show for January and I've been booked for one show on February. For booking-wise rest of the year is still open, so here's your chance. Book me!
I will take part of Olivia Rouge's couching classes with the intention of finishing and polishing my Bean Sídhe act. My intention is also to polish my three other routines, the artsy ones, and give them more burlesque-like touch. I might think some couching for those too if I can get all the pieces of my puzzle called life fit together. Like I wrote one of my earlier posts, I want to develop my artistic side more than those cheery, joyfull and humoristic acts. I'm not putting them away, because there's a need for them too, but like said the theme of 2023 is to develop the artistic side. I'm finally starting to figure out how I want my art to be. At this point I'm calling it simply "artistic" because I have no other word for it.
I'm not making any new year resolutions. I welcome new year with curiosity and open heart. What there is to come I take and make my best out of it. As I always do. I try and keep my child's mind and good laughs, and laugh mostly at oneself.
I have two dreams though, it is to be seen if they come true...
